Happy New Year!
Its hard to believe that on this day, exactly two years ago, Chris and I were sitting on a plane heading to Los Angeles to begin our round-the-world trip! 2016 was a phenomenal year with countless memories. One such memory was snorkelling in the Great Barrier Reef with the above turtle! This is one of my favourite pictures and it reminds me of the freedom we experienced from having a year away, without having to work and with the flexibility to travel around the world as we wished.
We both started back at work in January 2017 and managed to visit several places throughout the last year, fitting our travel into annual leave and weekends! It wasn’t quite on the same scale but we are thankful we have been able to do this. All of the places we visited in 2017 are covered throughout this blog site.
We didn’t quite make Canada in 2017 which we were considering however we were fortunate to visit Antigua which was totally unplanned a year ago!
Many people have a New Years resolution list where they set out with good intentions of going to the gym and eating healthily. I sometimes do this but each year I always have a new years travel planning list! In fact, 2018 is a milestone year for me as its the year I turn 50! This gives me an additional excuse reason to maximise my travel opportunities for this year 🙂
These are our travel plans for 2018:
- A short break to Portugal
- A holiday to the Maldives
- A snowy weekend in Switzerland
- A short break to Montenegro
- A cruise to Alaska
- A family holiday to Croatia
- A holiday to Cuba with my best friend (me only)
We will publish posts on each of these trips and continue to pop in blog posts of past trips every so often. There are many wonderful places to visit in the UK and we have an up-and-coming post on Derbyshire’s Peak District.
So, we would like to wish everyone a happy and exciting 2018 full of travel and adventures!
